The Physics Department offers a quality education rooted in scientific, ethical, and societal values, supported by a young and dynamic academic staff and modern laboratories. Our department aims to provide quality teaching and research that addresses the needs of society and industry, contributing practical solutions to societal challenges.
In undergraduate education, we utilize four research laboratories dedicated to practical applications in fundamental mechanics, optics, electricity, and modern physics. In addition to the undergraduate labs, all research laboratories are actively used for senior projects and research activities by graduate students.
The department conducts contemporary research and development in various fields within its laboratories, including smart and innovative materials, nanomaterials, energy applications, computational materials physics, nano-devices, sensors, optics, photonics, and quantum optics.
Additionally, the Çayırova Campus features two multipurpose sports halls, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, a football field, and a spacious new library with study areas, as well as a cafeteria and various kiosks. The campus's open areas, surrounded by unique natural scenery, are available for all students. Free bicycles are provided to students and staff for convenient campus mobility. Access to the campus is easy via public transport, including the Marmaray "Fatih-Gebze Technical University" stop located within the campus.
