QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND REGULATIONS
In order to receive a doctoral degree from the Earth and Marine Sciences Doctorate program, at least 7 courses, 2 seminar courses (non-credit), 1 Scientific Research Ethics course, with the condition of not less than 21 credits, in accordance with the fifth chapter, forty-sixth article of the Gebze Technical University Postgraduate Education Regulations. (non-credit) and starting from the semester in which the student passes the proficiency exam, the specialization course (thesis course) opened by his/her thesis advisor must be taken each semester.
- successfully completed at least 7 different graduate courses with minimum 21 GTU credits and two graduate seminars,
- maintained a minimum C.P.G.A. of 3.00 / 4.00 (GTU grade: BB- ECTS grade: C),
- obtained a minimum score (60/100) from the Interuniversity Board Foreign Language Examination (ÜDS) or equivalent to be admitted to the Doctoral Qualifying Examination.
- passed a Doctoral Qualifying Examination
- prepared a Dissertation and passed a Dissertation Defence Examination.
Students can take the doctoral qualifying exam.
- Passing the Doctoral Qualifying Exam;
- Students who successfully submit their thesis in the Thesis Defense Exam are awarded a PhD in Earth and Marine Sciences.
