THE RECOGNİTİON OF PRİOR LEARNİNG (FORMAL, INFORMAL AND NON-FORMAL)

  RECOGNITION OF FORMAL EDUCATION

It is only possible to recognize formal prior learning of transfer students from different universities under the coordination of the “Adaptation Commission” according to the relevant regulations set by The Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The courses taken from other universities during former education are recognized and their grades are included into the transcript of records/diploma supplement provided that the Adaptation Commission accepts their conformity to the related degree program. The recognized courses are shown as transfer course and symbolized with the letter “T”.

  NON-FORMAL AND IN-FORMAL LEARNING

Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Gebze Technical University and the Department is not an exception to this.
