GIT Department of Materials Science and Engineering is well equiped with state-of-the-art instrumentation in its spacious laboratories of Microstructural Analysis Lab, Ceramic Process Lab, Aluminum Lab, Electronic Materials Lab, Mechanic Test Lab, Surface Technologies Lab, Nanotechnology Research Lab.

Social facilities in Çayırova Campus available to all the GIT students are two sports centers, an outdoor swimming pool, a tenis court, a football field, spacious reading rooms in brand-new library, a restaurant, canteens in various spots and a huge open-air field with a magnificant view for outdoor sports.
