The institute's program will provide solutions tailored to sectoral and national needs by combining existing competencies with research potential in the fields of Smart Cities, geographic data infrastructure and analytics, traffic engineering and management, big data management in transportation, urban mobility analysis, smart systems, smart navigation, adaptive lighting, sustainable transportation planning and parking planning, zero-emission transportation, air quality monitoring, as well as GNSS, LiDAR, and sensor technologies for autonomous systems, and artificial intelligence in smart cities and smart transportation. 

The demand for application and research in Smart Cities and Smart Transportation reflects the aspirations of bachelor's graduates from various disciplines to further develop their skills in higher education. The Smart City and Transportation Technologies Master's Program, established within the Transportation Technologies Institute (UTE) at Gebze Technical University (GTU), will provide a significant opportunity for recent graduates from diverse disciplines and for students currently working in various public and private sectors who wish to specialize in this field.
