The Master's Program in Smart City and Transportation Technologies aims to provide graduate education focused on conducting innovative research in areas that address the practical needs of the sector within the field of smart cities and transportation technologies. This program is designed to contribute to the capacity development of representatives from both the public and private sectors in the relevant field.

The area of Smart City and Transportation Technologies is recognized as one that requires competence in sectoral applications and related domains, as outlined in the Republic of Turkey's Development Plans, the Smart City Strategy and Action Plan, and the Smart Transportation Strategy and Action Plan. Furthermore, it aligns with the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program, which clusters around Smart Cities, Transportation, and Smart Mobility, as well as the 2022 updated priority research areas defined by YÖK and the priority R&D and Innovation Topics identified by the Science, Technology, and Innovation Policies Council (BTYPK) under the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, emphasizing the urgent need for research in "green" and "digital" technologies.

In the Institute of Transportation Technologies, a core faculty has been structured to conduct a multidisciplinary graduate program in alignment with the disciplines of Geomatics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, and Urban and Regional Planning from the Faculty of Architecture. Faculty members from our university's departments will contribute to the courses and research based on their areas of expertise. Additionally, doctoral faculty members from relevant units of TÜBİTAK and other research institutions will also contribute to courses and research activities.
