Purpose of the course: It is aimed to determine and design policy, technology, and data infrastructure components within the scope of Urban GIS applications that support smart city services and decision-making processes.

Week 1: Smart city concept and components.
Week 2: Urban GIS concept and functions in smart cities.
Week 3: Urban GIS management and administrative structure in local governments.
Week 4: Urban GIS related legislations and defined works.
Week 5: Big geographic data management in smart cities- Large-scale maps, zoning plans, base/thematic maps and orto-photo maps.
Week 6: The use of advanced technologies such as web and mobile applications, sensors, kiosks, and signaling for smart city management
Week 7: Designing Urban GIS and building geographic data infrastructure.
Week 8: Take a project for smart city applications. Midterm Exam.
Week 9: Examining successful Urban GIS applications from Turkey and the world.
Week 10: Spatial address registration system and numbering applications.
Week 11: Work processes of zoning/planning and surveying in Urban GIS
Week 12: The management of linear engineering structures like transportation and infrastructure services in Urban GIS
Week 13: Income with taxation and socio-economic analysis in cities.
Week 14: Examining environment management, public health and security applications in Urban GIS. Project submission.
