Mathematics

Mathematics is the indispensable tool for science and technology and the most fundamental input to research and development processes. Mathematics provides the necessary tools for solving problems in almost any topic, ranging from physical sciences and engineering to social sciences. Our country, trying to catch up with modern technology, has a great demand for highly qualified graduates in the field of Mathematics.

GTU Department og Mathematics engages in research in both pure and applied mathematics and in Mathematics Education. The Department educates a wide range of students with different academic backgrounds at undergraduate, graduate and PhD levels.

The Department of Mathematics aims to make international researches, to keep its undergarduate and graduate education at a level high enough to raise scientists in different fields of mathematics, and to support other departments with courses and consultancy.
