Purpose of the course: Enable students to raise their knowledge and experiences about a defined scientific area, to plan an original, independent, scientifically-contributing thesis study, to properly document their study in time and finally to publish an SCI article out of their research results.

  1. Follow up current literature and developments

    1. Define, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (cbrn) concepts in a specialized way and apply them in CBRN defense
    2. Understand relevant research methodologies and techniques and their appropriate application within his/her research field
    3. Analyze critically and evaluate his/her findings and those of others
    4. Summarize, document, report and reflect on progress
    5. Write progress reports clearly on the basis of published documents, thesis, etc
    6. Work effectively in multi-disciplinary research teams
    7. Effectively express his/her research ideas and findings both orally and in writing
    8. Be aware of issues relating to the rights of other researchers and of research subjects e.g. confidentiality, attribution, copyright, ethics, malpractice, ownership of data
