Purpose of the course: The aim of this course is to demonstrate to nanotechnology students that nanotechnology is not only a technical and scientific subject, but also a topic with economic, political and ethical dimensions in the world and give them a broad perspective and vision. The course is mainly designed as three chapters; (1) commercialization of nanotechnology in the user market, (2) health, safety and environmental effects, and (3) national and international policies and ethical values on nanotechnology. The impacts on the areas of the national nanotechnology policies of the developed and developing countries, the whole system and its actors, the general policies about nano in our country, strategic focus areas, interface agencies, R & D support policies, national budget share, commercialization strategies and health and safety and environmental policies will be examined in this course.
